Street Tally support

When does the first car show up?

About a minute after the first vehicle passes. Street Tally waits for Ring to finish the recording, then counts it. Nothing from before you connected can be counted: Ring only shares recordings made after you give consent.

Getting a good count

Naming the two directions

Under Your cameras, give each direction a name, such as "Toward Main St" and "Toward the school". Left and right are as the camera sees them.

What does "not read" mean?

Each camera gets a daily allowance of colour and style readings (150 a day). Past it, vehicles are still counted with their direction. The allowance resets at midnight UTC.

Can it read licence plates or tell me whose car it was?

No, by design. Street Tally never reads plates, never identifies people and keeps no pictures. It only counts traffic by time, direction, colour and body style.
